Extremely rare Chinese Ming Dynasty ivory figurine of Confucian in excellent condition with beautiful antique patina. He holds a book with vivid expression of smiling. It has beautiful golden aged colour and a mark at the bottom with four characters of "DA MING CHENGHUA"(1465 - 1488) in seal form. This is the one of the best Chinese ivory carving from the Great Ming Era. It is probably from the Palace.
